In-situ testing in Saanich directly evaluates subsurface conditions without disturbing the native soil structure, essential given the region’s complex glacial geology and marine clay deposits. Our field programs follow CSA and ASTM standards to characterize variable ground profiles, from dense till to compressible silts. Core services include field density test (sand cone method) for compaction control and dynamic cone penetration testing for rapid stratigraphic profiling across the Saanich Peninsula.
These investigations support foundation design for residential developments on sloping terrain, municipal infrastructure upgrades, and shoreline protection works where soft soils demand reliable bearing capacity data. Complementing the sand cone method, we apply nuclear densitometer testing for large-scale earthworks verification. Proper in-situ data minimizes over-excavation risks and ensures compliance with local geotechnical reporting requirements.
